What is a Microcurrent Facial?
Microcurrent is a clinically tested therapy and one of the hottest innovations in anti-aging treatments. It is commonly referred to as “The Natural Facelift.”
Microcurrent is used for facial contouring, toning, and firming of aging skin. Microcurrent is a low-level current that mimics the body’s natural current. Microcurrent stimulates the facial area by sending soft, gentle waves through the skin, tissues and down to the facial muscles.
When it comes to healthy skin and aging, the first thing to address is lifting and toning the skin. One of the best ways to improve skin tone and quality is through non-invasive facial contouring with microcurrent. It’s exciting to see an increase in people turning to more natural approaches to youthful skin.
In this treatment, Microcurrent is used in conjunction with acupuncture which influences the health of the skin and works on more than the superficial signs of premature aging. This Acupuncture and Microcurrent combination works on two levels maximizing the benefits of the microcurrent procedure.
Why choose Microcurrent?
In addition to the clear benefit of more natural-appearing results, a microcurrent facial helps to re-educate facial muscles and increase ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is the energy inside our cells. When we have muscle tone in our face, it is more effective at holding the skin tight where it is needed or relaxed where it is required. After microcurrent therapy, it’s relatively common to see a little lift! Initial results with MyoLift usually lasts about 72 hours. This is where we like to reiterate that each microcurrent treatment builds upon the last. Cumulative microcurrent treatments ultimately build your facial muscles’ strength, which helps them hold results from a microcurrent session longer. This is why microcurrent treatments need to be repeated in a full series.
How many Acupuncture Microcurrent treatments do I need?
Typical treatment series requires four to eight sessions over the course of 4-6 weeks followed by maintenance every one to two months. Results are long term (new collagen lasts five to ten years) and accumulative, making microcurrent an excellent choice for holistic and preventative skincare. The recommended frequency of sessions will be discussed in the initial treatment appointment.
