All of us want flawless skin but is the simplest thing of drinking water really holding us back from achieving this goal? The researchers at the University of Missouri-Columbia found that having about 2 cups of water significantly boosted blood flow throughout the body and skin. Sure its not the cure-all for your skin issues but drinking enough water to stay properly hydrated is a huge factor in keeping your skin clear and looking younger.
Water is important for our health in many ways. Since our bodies are made up of 70% water its no wonder why water is required for so many bodily functions such as eliminating toxins, regulating bowel movements and producing energy. If you allow your body to become dehydrated, it will begin to scavenge water from your body to maintain the levels of hydration that are required in the blood and internally. This means that your body can pull water from your skin, including your face. Think about what happens to fruit in a dehydrator. It wrinkles as the water is pulled out. Not the look you were going for, was it?
Drinking water is the cheapest and easiest thing you can do to ‘plump up your skin’ and give it a glow. Try adding an extra glass per day to your daily skincare routine. Your skin will thank you for it!
